Should CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) remain a pressure movement, or should it eventually become a formal political party and contest elections?

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), founded by Abhijeet Dipke, emerged as a youth-led movement focused on issues including unemployment, examination irregularities and government accountability. Its protests gained significant attention and demonstrated that a movement outside traditional electoral politics can exert pressure on governments. Importantly, Dipke has explicitly said that CJP does not currently intend to become a political party and instead wants to operate as a nationwide pressure group. CJP has also announced plans for broader youth outreach around education and employment. This creates an interesting question for India: Can a movement create lasting political change by remaining outside electoral politics, or does it eventually need representatives inside government to implement the changes it demands?
The purpose of the question is not to ask whether people support or oppose CJP. It asks about the most effective model for political change. A pressure movement can remain independent from political parties and focus entirely on holding governments accountable. It can mobilize citizens, influence public debate and force governments to respond without being constrained by electoral calculations. However, there is a counterargument: pressure can force a government to act, but elected representatives actually control legislation, budgets and administration. If CJP wants fundamental changes rather than individual government concessions, becoming an electoral party could give it the ability to implement its ideas directly.
